What is LeSS (Large-Scale Scrum) about?
Large-Scale Scrum (LeSS) is a framework for scaling agile development to multiple teams. LeSS is based on Scrum principles such as empiricism, cross-functional self-managing teams and offers a framework for applying these at scale.
LeSS is to the organization what Scrum is to the team: a simple, powerful, large-scale product development framework designed to evolve into something that fits perfectly with any unique context.
The organization structure in which most of us operate today can be quite an obstacle to respond adequately to a fast-changing business environment. In fact, traditional organization structures are not designed to deal with a Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous (VUCA) world. This leads to employees feeling disengaged from their companies, and to companies being outpaced by their competition.
Consequently, organizations need to redesign their structures to cope with the phenomenon and increase their capability to move faster than competition, incorporate new technology, learn new skills...
LeSS will give you exactly that competitive advantage!

You might want to consider to go for a 4-day variation of this course which will come with a bonus recap day, either onsite or remote. 4 days provide more room and space to explore your context and even create some concrete artifacts that you can put in practice immediately after the course. A 3-day version will give you insights you can immediately put in practice and will require extra time from attendees to make those tangible in artifacts after the course.

5-Day Online Provisional Certified LeSS Practitioner
This online adventure has the same content as the Certified LeSS Practitioner course and is spread over a course of many days. We schedule 10 sessions of each +/-3 hours, 2 sessions per day, to guide you through all materials and exercises.
Why is this course "Provisional" for an Online event?
The main differences between the provisional Certified LeSS Practitioner and the in-person Certified LeSS Practitioner is this:
- The provisional is online and the in-person one is not (duh…).
- Thus typical drawbacks of online events such as harder to keep attention, more interruption, technical problems, etc.
- While also having the advantages of online, such as not having to travel, allowing it to be spread in multiple sessions, etc.
- The informal cross-participant discussion tends to be less effective leading to less experience sharing between students.
Because of these differences, we do NOT provide a Certified LeSS Practitioner event that is online. However, because a similar content can be taught and can be useful for people, especially those involved in LeSS adoptions, we will have the same content online in this course called provisional Certified LeSS Practitioner (pCLP).
When you attend a provisional Certified LeSS Practitioner, you will receive an account on the LeSS site, access to the LeSS books and other learning material that is traditionally only accessible for Certified LeSS Practitioners and Certified LeSS for Executives. You will be able to renew that every two years, exactly the same as a Certified LeSS Practitioners. However, you will receive a provisional Certified LeSS Practitioner badge (instead of a normal one) and not receive a certificate with it.
Your provisional Certified LeSS Practitioner will transform into a normal Certified LeSS Practitioner when:
- You joined an in-person LeSS & Learn session.
- You join an in-person Certified LeSS Practitioner or Certified LeSS for Executives course.
You might want to consider to go for a 6-day variation of this course which will come with a bonus recap day, either onsite or remote. 6 days provide more room and space to explore your context and even create some concrete artifacts that you can put in practice immediately after the course. A 5-day online version will give you insights you can immediately put in practice and will require extra time from attendees to make those tangible in artifacts after the course.

2-Day LeSS & Learn
This 2-day LeSS & Learn event is an in-depth journey connecting experiences of LeSS practitioners with sound theory and principles by highly skilled Certified LeSS Trainers. The event will be a collective mentoring session where we deepen LeSS knowledge and generate a lasting impact.
Exclusively for people who attended a Certified LeSS Practitioner and/or Certified LeSS for Executives training. The training is for those who want to continue their learning journey towards LeSS mastery. It is considered the proper way to extend your existing certification and shows a clear intention to grow expertise. People attending multiple of these events can genuinely be considered candidate LeSS experts.
We will cover a mix of course topics with a high focus on sharing experiences and experiments. We share and discuss LeSS and LeSS-Huge adoption war stories, workshops, tips, and coaching techniques.
The agenda for this 2-day event will be created and adjusted by your initiative, using the ideas you bring with you regarding LeSS. It is considered good practice to come prepared by exploring your knowledge gaps using the LeSS online assessment. You will develop and capture ideas you have passion for and make plans that will move your ideas forward in your organization. Your input will be essential for the success of this event. As an attendee, we expect that you prepare questions you might want to bring in; talks you want to give; workshops you want to run and other stuff you want to do during the event.
Given the topics you bring forward - before and during the 2-day event - the Certified LeSS Trainer will act as a guide and mentor towards deeper knowledge and experience by doing and by teaching.

2-Day Certified LeSS for Executives
What’s a key insight for senior managers to understand about LeSS? That it is not a practice or process. Rather, LeSS implies an organizational design change, which impacts group structures, hierarchy, team formation, roles, positions, processes, and basic policies.
The Certified LeSS for Executives course is an in-depth course covering the LeSS principles, adoption, the role of management, and broadly, what a senior manager needs to know and do to help. The course includes stories on LeSS adoptions, exercises, and extensive Q&A to ensure we discuss the topics most of interest to the participants.
The Certified LeSS for Executives course is for people in manager roles that support a LeSS effort. And since a change to LeSS involves both Product Management and R&D (or “business” and “IT”) together, senior representatives of both groups will want to attend together.

1-Day Certified LeSS Basics
The Certified LeSS Basics course is a brief introduction into the LeSS Framework. It provides a 1-day overview of the framework and some of the essential concepts that it uses. It will help determining whether LeSS is for you but for LeSS adoptions, we’d recommend to follow it up with a LeSS Practitioner course for all formal and informal leaders.
We do see 2 distinct purposes for this 1-day endeavour:
- Help decision makers to evaluate if LeSS is something they want to pursue or not within the context of their organization
- Help possible volunteers to consciously determine whether to join the initial adoption or procrastinate for a while
The course is highly interactive, intense and will require 8 hours touch time with the attendees. When applied in a LeSS adoption we go for a modified Lego4Scrum simulation with a very large audience in order to provide people with just enough information to make choices and be prepared for a LeSS Flip Forward event.
